That being said, they are prone to issues just like all pieces of tech. One such little problem is a failure to charge. In this short guide, I’m going to help you figure out why your JLab Go AIR will not charge. Hopefully, one of these checks or fixes can help you identify and solve your problem.
The Short Answer
The most common reason why JLab Go Air earbuds won’t charge is that the batteries are extremely depleted. Therefore, they need a longer charging time.
Some of the other reasons for JLab Go Air not charging are the charging ports are damaged or dirty, or there is a fault with the device’s battery. Finally, there are a few cases where hardware issues were to blame. So, let’s get into these JLab Go Air charging problems and fixes.
The Batteries Haven’t Charged for Long Enough or Been Charged in a Long Time
The batteries in the JLab Go AIR earbuds are like any other batteries. Therefore, they are susceptible to the same problems.
If you haven’t used the earphones for a long time, the battery cells will become depleted. As a result, the overall lifespan of the batteries will decrease. It might seem strange, but not using your batteries can drain them.

You should also try charging your earphones in another charging case. This might be a bit more difficult to do since we don’t all have two pairs lying around.
But, if you have a friend or know someone who has a pair, ask them if you can try charging your earbuds in their case. This will help you determine if the problem is with the earphones or the charging case.
Check if the charging port is loose or damaged
The charging ports on the cases of the JLab Go AIR have been known to come loose. In most cases, this would be some kind of breakage in the charging port components. Fortunately, the JLab Go AIR cases are noted for merely coming loose instead of breaking. While this is still not good, it does mean you can usually fix the issue.
If you’ve got a small enough screwdriver, you can loosen the charging port screws and gently reposition it. This should fix any charging issues you may have had due to a lack of proper contact between the metal parts.
Make sure the earphones are positioned properly in the case
This might seem like a fairly obvious thing to check. But, it happens more often than you might think. If the earphones are not properly placed inside the charging case, they will not be able to charge. This is because the contact points on the case and earphones are not making contact.
When placing them in the case, ensure the earphones cannot move or wiggle at all. That way, you’ll know they are secure in the case and charging properly.
Perform a Reset
Factory resets are programmed into devices like these for very good reasons. They can help us solve any number of issues. So, knowing how to factory reset JLab Go AIR earphones will help you get the most out of them.
Remember that a factory reset will place the earphones back in the state they were in the day that they shipped from the factory. So, all your paired devices will have to be re-paired after the reset is complete.
Here’s how to perform a factory reset on your JLab Go AIR earphones:
- Start by placing both the earbuds inside the charging case.
- Navigate to the Bluetooth settings on your source device, and remove or “forget” your JLab earphones.
- With the earphones still inside the case, tap the touch control on one earbud seven times.
- Tap the touch control on the other earbud seven times.
- Take the earphones out of the charging case; the reset should be complete.
- Try re-pairing them with your source device.
How Do I Know My JLAB AIR earphones are charging
There are several charging indicators for the JLab Go AIR earphones. One of them is the case itself. It will indicate charging when it is connected to a power source.
You can also check the status of the battery on your earphones by using your source device. Note that, understandably, your JLab earphones have to be connected to the source device for this to work.
If the indicators are showing that they are charging, then just be patient. They will soon be ready to use again.
How To Prevent Charging Issues with JLAB AIR
