Buying headphones with excellent Active Noise Canceling (ANC) features is not the be-all-end-all. The type of headphones you purchase should suit what you need them for. And not everyone is a hardcore music listener or Spotify streamer. Of course, you would ideally buy a set that has everything.
But, if you don’t have a massive budget, you’ll have to make some sacrifices to get the features you need the most. So, I decided to undertake an in-depth Jabra Evolve2 65 review to show you that it’s possible to buy headphones that produce good audio quality while also being ideally suited to those who are constantly making and taking calls on their phones.
In most standard headphones, the mic quality is, well, at best, standard. But, with this Jabra Evolve2 65 headset, the emphasis is on taking calls. Let’s find out more…

Jabra Evolve2 65 – The Basics
These Jabra Evolve2 65 stereo wireless on-ear Bluetooth headphones are something a bit different from what I usually buy. But that’s not a bad thing. Variety is the spice of life, and not everyone needs the same thing. They offer outstanding call quality as one of the key selling points, and they didn’t disappoint in that regard, but more on that later.
The battery lifespan is ridiculously long, the audio quality is more than good enough, the design is made for comfort, and the mic quality is excellent. They might not have ANC features, but they do come equipped with passive noise cancellation features, which, as you will see, is pretty impressive. First impressions die hard, and they made a solid impression on me from the get-go.
What’s in the Box?
When buying headphones or other electronic devices, I always feel like a kid at Christmas. I always anticipate what accessories, if any, come with the main product. You’ve got to get your kicks from somewhere, and I’m a geeky audiophile, so what did you expect? Before I get into the key features of the Jabra Evolve2 65 headset, I wanted to show you what was in the box when it came in the post.
- Jabra Evolve2 65 Headset.
- Jabra Link dongle adaptor (USB-A).
- Adaptor for USB-A to USB-C.
- Carry case.
- Instruction manual.
- Warranty card.
What Are the Jabra Evolve2 65 Key Features?
I might go as far as to call this the best headset for businesses or salespeople. It offers the best in call-taking quality but also works great for music listening and steaming. You get the best of both worlds, although the key features fall on the call-taking side. You can pair it with many devices, and it comes with wireless and Bluetooth connectivity and decent isolation.
This headset was designed to be compatible with lots of business platforms and apps. So, if you are a professional office worker, this would immeasurably benefit your work life. The in-built mic technology is awesome in many ways. So, let’s take a more in-depth look at the features to see what they do and what they offer.
3-Mic Technology for Professional Phone Calls
Let’s start with the Jabra Evolve2 65’s most important feature. This headset is all about its ground-breaking microphone technology. It was designed for outstanding call quality, and it didn’t let me down in that respect. It’s targeted toward business and sales personnel. So, the three strategically placed mics are there to ensure excellent sound quality for calls.
The three mics are placed in such a way as to eliminate and filter out 23% of unwanted background noise. This leaves you with a crystal clear sound that puts more focus on conversation than anything else. Did this headset live up to its claims about phone call-taking quality? Most definitely!
Excellent Wireless Connectivity
This is a wireless headset, so it can be used remotely on the go. But, with any headset of this type, they need top-notch connectivity, or you might as well sling them in the trash can. The Jabra Evolve2 65 headset is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and can be paired with up to eight devices in total. Plus, two devices at the same time.
Taking phone calls at any time and place is essential in the business world. You need to be able to roam free while taking calls. And that’s what you get with this beauty. It has a wireless range of around 30 meters, giving you some serious room to roam and maneuver.
Super Long Battery Lifespan
Anyone buying wireless Bluetooth headsets will immediately inform you of the importance of battery lifespan. You can’t roam very far for very long if your battery is weak or inferior. Fortunately, the battery life of this set is pretty much unbeatable. It might not have the longest battery lifespan ever, but I’ve never had a headset that lasted longer.
Jabra says the battery life on this set is approximately 37 continuous hours from a single charge, and although I am not sure it that’s entirely true, it probably is. They seemed to last forever and a day, and that’s the best recommendation you can get. One thing I do know is if you get eight hours of continuous play from just a 15-minute charge, and that’s a fact.
Passive Noise Cancellation and Sound Quality
As I mentioned earlier, this headset doesn’t have market-leading Active Noise Canceling (ANC) features. But it does offer passive noise cancellation. I was taken aback by the excellent isolation.
The high-quality memory foam padding worked as an absolute treat. It’s said to cancel around 45% of the noise around you. And I would say that’s a fair and honest assessment. It might not be true ANC, but that didn’t matter so much.
The overall sound quality also took me by surprise…
Especially because it is more focused on taking calls. It comes equipped with top-notch 40mm speakers that keep sound leakage down to a bare minimum. If you are not a professional sound engineer, you will think the sound quality when streaming music is excellent. You can easily switch between taking calls and streaming on Spotify, and the quality is way above average.
Built for Business
The Jabra Evolve2 65 is UC-certified for use with Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business, and a bunch of other business messaging services and platforms. Furthermore, this is an MS-optimized headset and can be connected to your PC or device with a USB-A Bluetooth adapter for the best connectivity.

Headsets like these are built and designed to be durable and reliable. I mean, you will need to wear them regularly every day, so they have to be up for the job. Thankfully, they are. Let’s take a quick look at the build and design specs of the Jabra Evolve2 65.

The Jabra Evolve2 65 might not be the most comfortable headset in the world, but it was more than adequate for my needs. If you wear headphones for hours at a time listening to podcasts or music, or waiting for or taking calls, it is the ideal choice. Being built for comfort is important in the modern-day business world.
Construction Materials
This is a headset we are talking about here, not a SpaceX rocket. But that doesn’t mean that Jabra scrimped and scraped on the construction materials. Far from it. It’s quite lightweight and mostly made of plastic. However, the excellent quality memory foam cushions are the star of the show for me. This product seems very durable, reliable, and well-made.
