Fatboy Slim, whose real name is Norman Quentin Cook, was born on July 31, 1963, in Bromley, England. He grew up in Reigate in Surrey where he attended Reigate Grammar School before studying at the Brighton Polytechnic College in East Sussex, where he pursued a degree in English, Drama and Media Studies.

Relationships and Children

Cook has been married twice, first to fellow musician and television presenter, Zoë Ball, in 1999, and then to Radio 2 presenter, Véronique Jeantet, in 2019. He has a son from his first marriage, Woody Fred Cook, who was born in 2000.

Fatboy Slim’s career began in the 1980s when he joined British band, The Housemartins, as their bassist. The band was known for their social and political lyrics and enjoyed success in the UK charts. After The Housemartins disbanded in the late 80s, Cook DJ-ed at various parties and clubs, and eventually, he gained popularity under the alias of Fatboy Slim.

In 1996, he released his first single, “Everybody Needs A 303,” which became an instant commercial success. His debut album, “Better Living Through Chemistry,” was later released in 1997 and was equally successful, earning him admired recognition for his pioneering efforts in the Big Beat genre.
