Karaoke is not that new a phenomenon. It is most closely associated with Japan and South Korea, but it first appeared in the Philippines. The first karaoke machine was made in Japan, and it is now big business worldwide. With a lot of manufacturers producing excellent products, in this review, we will look for the Best Karaoke Speaker.
People often comment that they cannot see how it has spread so widely. In fact, it hasn’t really. It is still massively popular in the Far East, where there are endless karaoke bars and places to sing, as well as some serious professional karaoke venues.
There is a reason for that…
The people in Japan and South Korea are not as judgemental as their counterparts in the West. In Japan and South Korea, you are applauded for getting up and ‘having a go.’ And why not. Music is to be enjoyed.
These days there are Karaoke bars worldwide. But they don’t have the same atmosphere as they do in the Far East. The equipment used there is staggering at times. Not audiophile quality, of course, it needs to be loud and often a bit bass-heavy. But it is built for a purpose.
The speakers are an important part; they deliver the sound. So, let’s take a look at what’s available and find the perfect Karaoke Speaker for you…

Top 8 Best Karaoke Speaker You Should Buy Reviews
1 ION Audio Raptor – Most Rugged Karaoke Speaker
Quite often, your Karaoke speaker might need to be carried around. It is always a good idea to make sure the build quality is up to the job. Ion has done that with this speaker and then gone a bit further.
It shares a name with a Ford pickup truck. You could be excused for thinking it might be made from one of its tires. The sides, top, and back have been given a rubber construction with a thick tire tread design. This is going to take a few knocks and not even notice. To add to its design function, it has an IPX4 water-resistant rating. This is just in case it gets caught in the rain.
Plenty of bass…
It delivers about 100 watts peak, which is about 50 watts RMS. This is through an eight-inch woofer coupled with a three-inch wide-dispersion tweeter, and it delivers plenty of bottom end.
It has some useful connections. You can pair up any Bluetooth enabled device, your phone or tablet to use playlists. And if you want to connect up non-Bluetooth devices, there is a 3.5mm aux input. Built-in is also an AM/FM tuner, so you have all the music options covered.
Massive battery life…
It has a rechargeable battery that takes a couple of hours to fully recharge. If you can prefer, it can be used via the mains supply. The battery will give you up to 75 hours of use, depending on the volumes you use, and it has a battery status indicator.
It measures 11.10 by 18.00 by 18.50 inches, and it weighs 31 pounds. To assist in you moving it around, there are two wheels built-in to the back of the speaker. It also has a telescopic handle and also another handle on each side.
The controls are conveniently placed on the top of the speaker. There is a volume and input for the microphone and a separate Master Volume. The controls are all easy to see and self-explanatory. The knobs and controls are all plastic, though, which is the opposite of the rest of the construction. It is made in China and is not the cheapest option you will find.
- Most of the speaker has a very strong build.
- Good connections with Bluetooth.
- Plastic buttons and knobs could break more easily than the rest of the rugged construction.
2 EARISE T26 Portable Karaoke Machine – Best Portable Karaoke Speaker
This is a compact unit that has some nice features. It is though not really designed for a large gathering or party as its power output is only 12 watts. It is, though, a carry with you speaker. Measuring just 10 by 5.5 by 13.3 inches and weighing under 6 pounds, it is very portable.
It really has two purposes, either as a low-key karaoke machine or it could be just a music speaker.
Make a record…
It has, as we have mentioned, some nice features, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity being just one, and it has a standard range of 10 meters. Plus, it features a USB/TF card that allows you to record audio through the mic. It will also operate as a power bank to charge phones and tablets.
The remote control is a handy feature. You can perform just about all the functions that are included on the control panel. Therefore, you don’t have to return to the speaker to make any changes. When not in use, it clips into its dedicated slot on the back of the speaker.
Party all night long?
There is a rechargeable built-in Li-Ion battery that will give you approximately four and a half hours of playtime if you use the speaker at near maximum volume. That is not a great deal of usable time for a party or gathering. However, you will get a little longer at lower volumes.
There is an included USB cable for charging. However, a full charge will take about six hours, which is not particularly efficient.
It has a range of controls placed conveniently on the top of the unit, including a digital display, and on the front panel, which is lit. And it features a tough build that will withstand being carried around and a convenient carrying handle placed on the top. It comes complete with a very basic microphone.
A very cost-effective system, but a little bit limited in terms of its volume and battery life for parties and gatherings.
- A strong build with easy to use controls.
- Plenty of good features at an attractive price.
- The power rating is quite low for karaoke or parties.
3 HIKEP Portable Karaoke Machine – Best Karaoke Speaker for Kids
This is another compact karaoke machine that is designed for a variety of uses and is probably a speaker that is best for children. It isn’t really suitable for adult karaoke parties and gatherings mainly due to the power rating. At about 8 watts RMS, it is ideal for some fun for children but will hardly be heard at larger events.
Besides karaoke, though, it could also be used as a portable speaker. It would be great to take to the beach or just use it in the garden to play some music. Measuring just 12.8 by 8.6 by 5.6 inches and weighing only five pounds, it is easy to take with you wherever you go. It has quite a sturdy build that will be able to take a few knocks.
Listen to the radio…
It is fitted with Bluetooth 4.2, and therefore compatible devices can be paired up. This gives you the opportunity to play your own playlists if you choose. It operates with the standard 10-meter range. It also has a built-in FM radio.
The bass has been given a boost, and so it generates quite a warm sound. However, getting a lot of volume will not be possible because of the lack of power and the fact that the speaker is quite small.
It has a rechargeable Li-ion battery. At a high volume, this will give you about six hours of playing time. Battery life will depend upon the volume used and will give a bit more time at moderate volume levels. But that is not what you need with a low output machine, especially one for karaoke.
Charge them up…
It will also operate as a power bank for other devices such as phones or tablets.
Controls are located on the front and include echo for the microphone. There is a volume control but no separate control over volume for the mic. There is also a very basic record option. It comes with a wired microphone and a USB cable.
A very basic system at a very cost-effective price. It will be fine for kids’ parties as long as you don’t expect too much of it.
- Portable and compact little machine with a good build quality.
- A cost-effective children’s party machine.
- Not really loud enough for larger parties or gatherings.
4 Bose 301-V Stereo Loudspeakers – Best Premium Karaoke Speaker
This is a speaker system from Bose, so that means two things. Firstly the sound quality is going to be quite good. Secondly, they are not going to be cheap. We are not exactly sure about these being suitable for Karaoke. As speakers, they might be better employed as part of a sound or home cinema system.
For karaoke, they would need to be wired to an amp that would handle the mic and any effects. These speakers are just going to give you the sound. Nevertheless, being Bose, they are always worth a look.
Warm and deep…
They have a very efficient sound dispersion and offer a wide distribution of sound. This would make them particularly good for use as bookshelf speakers. The horizontal design gives them the width and contributes to a sound that surrounds you.
The bass reflex speaker design offers a deep but not all-consuming bass sound. The sound of the lower frequencies having typical Bose warmth and depth.
Each speaker is a nice comfortable size at 9.75 inches high by 14.25 by 9.75 inches deep. And inside each cabinet is an 8-inch woofer and 2.5 inch angled tweeters. The sound is not angled precisely at one place in the room, but as we have said, the angle of the speakers gives you a sound that surrounds. The speaker grilles are removable if you wish.
As speakers, they can be used for karaoke, as we’ve said. But to be honest, they are far too good for that, and have a high price point as you might expect.
- A nicely designed speaker system that gives a wide sound dispersion.
- Well designed and compact cabinets.
- Not really suitable for karaoke use.
5 Pyle Portable Cabinet PA Speaker System – Most Powerful Karaoke Speaker
Pyle likes to produce some loud and powerful speakers, and these are powerful. However, we have to say that 1600 watts peak and 800 watts RMS might be stretching it a bit. Perhaps what you might call an enthusiastic estimation.
You can’t escape the fact though that this speaker is quite a size. It is made from MDF fiberboard and has a ported design. And measures 42.5 by 17.5 by 16.7 inches 47 pounds, so it won’t be that easy to carry around with you.
It has corners that have been reinforced for protection, and the inside of the cabinet is carpeted. To help you carry them around, it has some strong handles on the sides.
As a portable party or karaoke system, it is going to make an impact. Inside the cabinet are two twelve-inch woofers with massive eighty-ounce magnets. There are also four 3.4 inch tweeters. Add on to that a one and a half-inch horn-driven titanium driver, and the sound is expansive, to say the least.
This covers the mid and high range frequencies, and to give you some bass; there is the ported enclosure we mentioned. There is a crossover that is built-in, and the frequency range goes from 50k-20kHz.
It does not give you a surround experience as it is a vertical speaker, but the frequency spread is quite wide, so it does deliver a full range.
However, it should be noted that we are reviewing karaoke speakers, and this is just a speaker. It has no amplifier built-in, so to use it for karaoke or for anything else, you will need an amplifier. Also, just to remove any doubt, the price point is the price for one speaker. Quite an expensive speaker and for karaoke, given that you need to buy an amp, it is not a cheap investment.
- Well-built with a strong cabinet.
- Good array of speakers for full frequency range cover.
- You will need an amp and a mic for karaoke use.
6 RHM Karaoke Machine for Kids and Adults – Best Family Karaoke Speaker
This is a compact system that is designed with younger people in mind. It has a decent power level at 60 watts, which is enough to fill a small hall. And it is easy to carry around with you as it is just 13.86 by 7.87 by 6.89 inches and weighs only 12 pounds. It also has a carrying handle so you can take it to functions with you.
The sound is produced using two treble speakers giving 15 watts each. A dedicated woofer that is 4 inches provides the low frequencies. Together they produce the 60 watts peak, about 30 watts RMS. This produces a reasonable sound with crisp highs and prominent bass.
Practical and versatile…
It is a versatile unit, and besides being suitable for karaoke, it can also be used as a portable music speaker. Featuring Bluetooth and for non-Bluetooth devices, a 3.5mm aux in, plus it also takes a USB connection and a micro SD card. Built-in is a DSP chip to give you a sound that is full range.
It is battery driven with a playtime of about six hours. The speaker comes with two microphones that are connected as soon as you turn the speaker on.
Take to the stage…
An ideal present for a child who likes to perform. But as we said, it is also loud enough for a small gathering.
It comes with the speaker, two wireless microphones and a charging cable, and a power adapter. However, the price point is quite expensive for what it is.
- Easy to use karaoke machine with a decent power output.
- Two microphones included.
- Quiet expensive.
7 ARCHEER Portable PA Speaker System – Best Bedroom Karaoke Speaker
This is another budget system that is designed for personal use or very, very, small gatherings. Measuring 11.02 by 9.45 by 5.91 inches and weighing just 3.39 pounds, it is extremely portable and easily carried around to small functions.
Could do with some more battery life…
It has rechargeable batteries built-in that will give you between four and eight hours of playtime. This will depend on the volume you use, of course, and here lies a problem. If you are using it for karaoke, then it has got to be played at a decent volume to be heard.
The power output in this little unit is hardly adequate for karaoke with maximum volume. Four hours of use is hardly acceptable. Therefore, you can probably rule out parties or gatherings of more than a few people as it will not be heard.
Plug in a guitar…
It has got some varied uses – it could be a plain and simple music system, and with its quarter-inch jack socket, it could double-up as a guitar or keyboard practice amp at home. It is advertised as a PA system, but we think not. As a karaoke machine, it is fine for a small child in their bedroom, but not much else.
It is Bluetooth enabled and has a USB port and Aux-in, and it comes with a microphone. But this is a good example of why Japan and associated ‘karaokers’ are light years ahead of the West in this technology. It seems that in the Far East, they have identified what makes karaoke work. A very high percentage of the rest of the world is still looking.
It is cheap, though, and will make a ‘fun’ present for a young person.
- Bluetooth enabled.
- Comes with a microphone.
- Only really suitable for a child in their bedroom for a bit of fun.
8 TONOR PA System Karaoke Machine
We finish with another tabletop karaoke machine that is really only suitable for small gatherings. However, this is a little bit louder than some, so it has got some karaoke potential.
It is rated at a 60-watt peak or 30 watts RMS. And while that will not bring the roof of a club down, it will suffice in a small room or party gathering.
The sound is produced through a single 6.5-inch speaker. You should also note that this is a mains supply speaker only and does not run off batteries. An added problem to this is that the speaker cord is only about four feet in length. That means it will need to be next to a mains outlet if you are going to place it on a table. Working off the floor might not be a good idea.
It is Bluetooth enabled and has a USB flash drive. You can, therefore, pair up your devices or plug into the drive and play your playlists. Pairing is automatic once the speaker is turned on.
The microphones are a UHF wireless design that should give you a reasonably stable connection for up to about 50 meters. However, the controls are rather inadequate with no bass or treble at all. That means whilst the sound is quite loud, it is very flat and cannot be improved.
Once again, this is a very basic system that is not really a serious karaoke machine. It is designed to be a bit of fun at a small gathering. That, of course, is fine, and it will serve its purpose, providing your expectations are not too high. But it is not particularly cheap, given it is a very basic system.
- Has a decent power output for small gatherings.
- Quite a strong build.
- Not the best sound you could hope for.
Best Karaoke Speaker Buyers Guide
The key to finding the best speaker for Karaoke is deciding exactly what you need it for. This will make a big difference to the features it needs to have and how much it costs.
Where will you use it?
If you’re considering an all bells and whistles machine with lights, links to lyrics, etc. then we have not covered those in this review. Most of the machines we have looked at have been very small, low-key affairs. They are also just meant to be speakers. The effects and lights, etc. come through use with an amp.
Having said that, some of these products have their own built-in amplification; they are, therefore, karaoke speakers with amps.
You also need to decide whether you will be using it at functions. If so, then you will need more power. Probably at least 80 watts would be needed for even a modest size room. In that case, you will need to make sure it has a good build quality for carrying it around.
Also, consider the weight and size. If it is heavy, check to make sure it has got wheels and carrying handles.
It may be that you need it just for home and family use. If so, there are plenty to choose from, and weight and size do not become an issue. An neither does the amount of power it puts out.
Just for home or small parties, using an aux in might be a good idea and offers links to your playlists. However, if you want an experience that goes anywhere near the real thing, then you will need good connections.
With the products that we have reviewed that are just speakers, you will need amplification. Then you can use music without the vocals; these karaoke recordings are readily available online.
