The price of some headphones has increased to, what you might call in some cases, astronomical levels. If only for that reason, they need to be protected. You may have invested more in them than we paid for our first car. If so, then you will need to find the Best Headphone Cases.
Not all headphone manufacturers provide a case when you purchase their headphones. Some will give you a flimsy carry bag, but that is hardly what you might call protection.
The use of headphones is becoming more wide-ranging. They are with us in the gym, while running, on our daily commutes. There are very few times when they are not with us. So, realistically, we need somewhere to store them safely.

Best Headphone Cases On The Market Review
To help you find the best case for your headphones, we’ve reviewed the top products available, so let’s go through them, starting with the…
1 Geekria Headphone Case – Best Value for the Money Headphone Case
This is a headphone case that is suitable for a range of headphones, including certain AKG and Sony products. They have been designed with quite a sturdy outer shell. That will protect your phones from being damaged if they are dropped accidentally, or you knock them against something.
How sturdy is it?
This shell is quite stiff but not as hard as the plastic on a laptop cover. In toughness, it is more akin to the cases you get for eyeglasses. We wouldn’t, therefore, recommend cramming it into tight spaces in a bag.
It is finished in an attractive gray leather-like material with a zipper opener. It is a lightweight case at 9.5 ounces. However, it should be noted that this case is not listed as being waterproof.
It has a soft material with good stitching. The internal dimensions are 8.46 by 7.48 by 2.36 inches. There is a mesh pocket inside that will store accessories. It is quite large enough to hold chargers, earpads, and cables.
It is quite a nice case, but if it has a weak point, then that might be the zipper. Apart from that, it is a well-designed case with a good look about it. You should check on the dimensions of your phones, of course, to ensure they fit. Set at a reasonable price point, it is quite good value for money.
- Attractive gray outer covering.
- Quite a sturdy case at a decent price point.
- The zipper might be vulnerable.
2 Mophie Power Capsule – Best Small Earbuds Case
If you lead an active lifestyle and your earbuds need some protection, then this case is going to be worth considering. The outer measurements of the case are 3.31 by 1.77 by 4.98 inches, and it weighs only 3.9 ounces. It is, therefore, a compact case that is easy to store and carry around with you.
Keep them powered…
Not only will it protect your earbuds, but it will also charge them for you. It has a built-in charger that will give you up to 60 hours of playback. And once they have finished charging, it will turn itself off. There is an LED indicator to keep you up to date on the battery status. This is located on the underside of the case.
The battery in the case can be recharged while the earbuds are also being charged.
They have quite a tough outer shell and have a rubberized finish that is soft to the touch. Having this slightly flexible covering is an advantage if they are dropped or something is dropped on it. They are not listed as being waterproof, but having a rubberized surface will give the case some protection. It is likely, then, that they will survive the odd downpour.
A bit of a tight squeeze…
Inside there is a soft to the touch interior that will protect against scratches. There is enough room to hold the earbuds and some cabling, though, not much else. We would advise you that it is quite a tight fit. They haven’t got a zipper, and the case lids clip together. Closing the lid can sometimes be a problem, and you might need to rearrange what’s inside if they do not quite meet.
They are a compact unit, but you must check the size of your device to ensure it will fit because space is definitely at a premium. Nevertheless, they are set at a very attractive price point, which makes these a good option.
- Well made case with a nicely padded interior.
- Attractive price point.
- Clipping the case firmly closed can be an issue at times.
3 Cosmos PU Leather Protection Carrying Box for LG Electronics – Best Budget Headphone Case
This is a carrying case from Cosmos that was designed specifically to fit certain earphones from LG Electronics. Whilst it will obviously accommodate those sets that are listed, there may be other LG Electronics phones that don’t fit. Likewise, there may be some earphones that are not LG Electronics that will fit.
It is always a difficult situation when a manufacturer designs for a few specific sets of phones. It is best to check the sizes of your headphones and the case very carefully in that situation.
Safe and secure…
It has an interesting oval shape and quite a tough outer casing. The casing is made of PU leather, which is another way of saying imitation leather, but it does have quite an attractive look. It is a zipper design, and so as with most of these cases, that could be the weak point. Inside it has plenty of soft covering to protect your phones. As you open the case on one side, there is a mesh pocket.
This will hold a small number of extra cables and small accessories. When the phones and accessories are enclosed, the case is about one inch thick. That is about its maximum width, and you should not try and overfill it. This will exert too much pressure on the zip. The case measures 7.5 by 6.3 inches and weighs just over four ounces. This case is water-resistant, not waterproof.
It is quite a well-made case and looks nice with good internal padding. However, it is rather limited in its use to a few sets of phones. It is set at a very competitive price point, which will make it attractive to some people. And it may be worth looking to see if your non-LG phones will fit.
- Nice design with plenty of padding.
- Very cost-effective price point.
- Limited to a few headphone types.
4 Bellroy Classic Pouch – Best Premium Headphone Case
Bellroy is more than an interesting company. And for those people who are into environmental issues and animal welfare, you are going to like them. Established in 2009 in Australia, they are based in Melbourne and produce a range of travel items. They are not a company that manufacturers just for headphones.
They take it a stage further, recognizing that earphones are not the only thing we carry around. Just a small part of our daily lives. G’ day Bellroy.
They call this the Classic Pouch…
It’s not just a case for your headphones; it is quite a bit more than that. This is something you carry around with you everywhere. If you travel a lot or just need to carry stuff with you, this could be the case for you. It is certainly one of the best cases for headphones around.
It is 8.8 inches by 5.5 inches and has a usable depth of 2.3 inches, and it weighs just over 3 ounces. So you could not really call it compact, and that is larger than the norm. But you are carrying a lot more with you. Yes, it is going to take your earphones but is also going to take pens, cables, a small charger, USB cables and quite a lot besides.
Versatile and practical…
In fact, don’t limit its use to earbuds; it will take other small electronic devices as well. All packed away in one convenient case.
It is made from a sustainably produced fabric that is water-resistant. It is Australian, so it has got to be suitable for the beach, hasn’t it? Inside there are pockets for equipment and what you are carrying. It has a very strong zipper. It is a fully opening case. That allows you total and easy access to the whole unit, and it has an external side pocket.
Quality comes at a cost…
This is a complete unit, and one we think is a great design. Well-made, giving you plenty of space and made by a company with good ethics, which makes a pleasant change. The only downside is the price. But then it carries around a lot more than just a set of headphones. It also has a tougher build than most of the others.
- Good design and well-made with good materials.
- Plenty of room to carry most of your daily needs in one place.
- Quite expensive.
5 Catalyst Airpods Case Protective Silicone Cover – Best Mid-Level Headphone Case
Catalyst has produced a case for protecting Airpods. The company claim that it has military-level protection, whatever that means? But the cover is only for Airpods and nothing else, which we think is rather restrictive.
It is made of polycarbonate, a thermoplastic, and then given a light covering of silicon, which is a mixture of plastic and rubber. It is waterproof up to a depth of three meters and has an IP67 rating. The silicon coating will certainly help in that scenario.
What did we like about this headphone case?
It has a carabiner attached that is removable if you choose. Using it does make it easy to attach. Using it is ok if you don’t mind having something hanging from you as you walk or ride.
It has Lightning port access and can utilize wireless/Q1 charging. It has measurements of 2.36 by 1.93 by 1.02 inches, so it is quite a compact little case. They have set this at a realistic price point though it is slightly more expensive than most competitors for other earbuds other than Apple.
- Water and weatherproof design.
- They have a strong build.
- Airpods only.
Are headphone cases really that important?
To some, they will be. If you carry your music with you, then it would be advisable to have something secure to carry them in. Just throwing them in a bag or briefcase might not be a long term solution. Certainly exposes them to some potential damage.
Some have chargers, and some are built to carry more than just the earphones. There is a range of choices. But if you travel or even commute with them, then a case is a good idea.
