8 Best Recording Studios In Atlanta

Touchscreen recording studio technology is still a rare thing to find in standard recording studios. aBs Studios in Atlanta were the first to offer touchscreen technology in the state, and they have this tech in both their A Studio and B Studio. They also offer very reasonable rates that will suit independent artists paying their way in the industry.

The studios are super-clean and super-cool and are known for their warm and friendly vibes. They come equipped with all the latest recording studio tech and equipment, such as TubeTech CL1B compressors, numerous software DAW options with an Apple Mac Pro Trash Can, and a pair of touchscreen 55” monitors.

You can record your vocals in a stylish 8×8 vocal booth as well. These are quite spacious studios that can handle up to ten people, ideally suited to bands.

How Much Does it Cost?

Not that much when you consider the high levels of recording studio gear. You can expect to pay $55 per hour without a sound engineer or $75 per hour with one in Studio A. The rates in Studio B are a bit lower at $60 per hour with an engineer and only $35 per hour without.

Numerous Atlanta artists and musicians have worked at aBs Studios. You will be using the recording studio used by 21 Savage, Offset Migos, 30 Roc, Lil Baby, and many more. If your music style is Rap, you won’t find a better Hip-Hop recording studio in Atlanta

11th Street Studios

11th Street Studios

One of the most prestigious recording studios in Atlanta is 11th Street Studios. They are quite a large establishment with six separate recording studio rooms. So, it’s quite easy to book a time, although they are usually very busy, which is a good sign.

Mixing services and sound engineering are also offered, so you can get a wide range of features here. Some of their rooms are vibrant and chaotic, while others are intimate and chilled. There is something for every type of artist, band, or musician.

In regards to high-end recording equipment, they have everything you need. In every room, you will find Bryston amps, top-notch mics, Mac Pros, and Pro Tools 11. It’s no wonder that the studio has attracted so many major names, like Lil Wayne, Big Boy, and even Bruno Mars. This is easily one of the 8 best recording studios in Atlanta that has garnered a fantastic reputation.

How Much Does it Cost?

It’s one of the more expensive Atlanta recording studios on my list. But, given its quality and reputation, that’s hardly surprising. It’s pricy, but you get what you pay for. And the price structure is also not so straightforward because they have so many different rooms and services on offer.

Studio A will cost approximately $160 per hour, but it can be a bit cheaper depending on the time of day or if you book block hours. For example, if you book a block of 12 hours in Studio A, it will cost $1,600, basically giving you two hours for free. Alternatively, if you book a block of 12 hours in Studio G, it will only cost $650, so that’s a big difference.

You can also buy custom packages. These can include mixing and mastering packages and also sound engineers, and a bunch of other options.

RexTrax Recording Studios

RexTrax Recording Studios

One of the longest-running recording studios in Atlanta is ReTrax Recording Studios. It’s been in operation since 1997 and is also one of the cheapest due to its suburban location. This is an Atlanta recording studio where you get more bang for your buck while still having access to a top-notch recording facility.

Patchwerk Recording Studios

Patchwerk Recording Studio

Former Atlanta Falcon player Bob Whitfield originally founded Patchwerk Recording Studios out of his love and passion for music. The studios are located in a 10,000-square-foot building that is home to two different studios that have everything any artist or band could need.

The main room is called Studio 9000. It is home to some stunning equipment, such as an SSL J900 mixing console, which is the only one in the state (at the time of writing).

Some of the biggest artists in the music industry have recorded here. Snoop Dog, Beyonce, Ludacris, Nick Jonas, and Young Jeezy have graced the hallowed halls of this establishment. And although they are Hip-Hop, R&B, and Pop artists, the studio is still a great choice for bands that play any type of music.

How much does it cost?

You get lots of pricing options at Patchwerk Recording Studios, but it all depends on what you need. All their recording packages include sound engineers. And, you can even call on the services of a professional producer if you need one, for additional charges, of course. A bundle package for new clients of eight hours in the studio costs $500. The price is usually $700, so it’s a great deal.

The choice you make should hinge on what type of music you or your band play or how much cash you have in your recording budget. And, if you shop around, you can find some great deals.

I suggest you buy blocks instead of single-hour bookings because you can save more money that way. Also, I suggest you ensure that your chosen studio and package come with a sound engineer. Just so you can simplify your whole experience and get the most for your money.
